The Texas State University 2020 American Advertising Federation National Advertising Student Competition (NSAC) Team will advance to the national competition for the first time since 2010.
The team won first place in this year’s American Advertising Federation (AAF) District 10 Competition, consisting of schools from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The team has advanced to nationals 11 out of the last 30 years and has placed in the top six at nationals all 11 times.
NSAC is the premier college advertising competition, providing more than 2,000 college students with real-world experience and creating an integrated strategic communications campaign for a corporate client.
This year, the team was tasked with a notably complex B2B case by the client, Adobe®, as well as complex remote working conditions due to the pandemic, and persevered with integrity, passion, and grace.
This year’s team consisted of Advertising, Marketing, and Graphic Design students spanning across two colleges and three departments. This success wouldn’t have been possible without the students' dedication and support from the different units across the university.
“Texas State has a history of collaboration between colleges within the University,” stated Dr. Clay Craig, Texas State NSAC co-advisor and Assistant Professor of Advertising. “The collaborative spirit was even more important this semester with the unusual challenges facing students. It has been an honor to see their creative solutions and ideas recognized at the district and semi-final competitions. I continue to be inspired by the dedication and determination of this team.”
