In Memoriam: Diana “DeeDee” Fuentes
The Texas State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication mourns the unexpected passing of lecturer and journalism leader Diana “DeeDee” Fuentes on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Diana served as executive director of Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) since 2021 and was a proud Texas State graduate, earning her Master’s in Mass Communication in 2022. With more than 35 years in journalism, she was known for her leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to the field.
