Buschhorn Wins 2019 Educator of the Year

Professor Jenny Buschhorn was awarded the 2019 Educator of the Year by the Austin chapter of the American Advertising Federation.  She is the Advertising Program coordinator and Assistant Professor of Practice in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.  This was the second year in a row Texas State University faculty member was selected for this award. The selection committee was so impressed by Jenny’s continued support of students and engagement in the community that she even beat out fellow nominee Mathew McConaughey. Her role as advertising program head has allowed her to move beyond the classroom and make meaningful changes to the advertising curriculum that foster student development. Jenny continues to dedicate her time and energy to students by mentoring them through scholarships (i.e. Most Promising Multi-Cultural Student), internship recommendations (i.e. Multi-Cultural Advertising Intern Program), and career opportunities (i.e. GSD&M, Droga5, Digitas, Wieden Kennedy, HEB, and HP).Congrats, Jenny!
