SJMC senior elected to PRSSA National Committee

Texas State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication public relations senior, Rosa Ambriz, was recently elected to the 2018-2019 Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) National Committee as Vice President of External Affairs. As Vice President of External Affairs, Ambriz will be responsible for building relationships with key external audiences, engaging in traditional public relations efforts and taking an active role to promote the PRSSA Diversity Initiative.Ambriz currently serves on the PRSSA 2018 National Conference Committee as Programs Director and has been a member of PRSSA since 2017. Her passion for advocacy of diversity and inclusion is what inspired her to run for national office. Ambriz will be the first Texas State University student to lead PRSSA at the national level.“I decided to run for Vice President of External Affairs because I wanted to see the diversity of PRSSA reflected in the leadership of the organization,” Ambriz said. “I saw this challenge as an opportunity to bring my perspective, discover new ideas and inspire the next wave of communicators.”Ambriz will begin her term after attending the PRSSA Leadership Rally in Scottsdale, Arizona at the end of May.
