We would like to welcome Dr. Enrique P. Becerra as Interim Director of the Center for the Study of Latino Media and Markets (El Centro) in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Dr. Becerra is an Associate Professor of Marketing at McCoy College of Business Administration. CSLMM Founding Director Dr. Federico Subervi is on a one-year leave of absence and is scheduled to return to Texas State in September 2014.A native of Colombia, Dr. Becerra has more than 8 years of professional expertise in Latin American markets including private equity investment and fund management experience in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Venezuela. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing from Florida Atlantic University. His research explores the influence of culture and/or ethnicity on consumer behavior. Dr. Becerra is active in the American Marketing Association and his work has been published and is forthcoming in the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of Business Research, and the European Journal of Marketing.
