Eleven students from the MC4357D Sports Media class visited San Antonio's AT&T Center (April 12th) for a field trip with the San Antonio Spurs broadcast crew. Mike Kickirillo, Director of Broadcasting and '88 Texas State alumnus, guided the students through the TV truck's intricacies and gameday preparation before that night's telecast of the Spurs' game against the Sacramento Kings. Kickirillo also toured the students through the media areas of the arena and explained the set-up for the TV cameras. The students then had separate Q&A sessions with Fox Sports Southwest TV play-by-play anchor Bill Land and the radio voice of the Spurs, Bill Schoening. While visiting the AT&T Center, the students met producers Daniel Ashcraft (Texas State '96), Carter Snowden (Texas State '08), Robert Fisher (Texas State '10) and production assistant Aerin Carreno (Texas State '12).
