We are elated to have you join us as a guest speaker for our annual Mass Comm Week (MCWeek), which will take place from October 12-16, 2026! We are honored to have you as a key speaker as we help set up Bobcats for successful careers in the Mass Communication field. Mass Comm Week (MCWeek) is an annual conference hosted by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The event brings together alumni, media and communication professionals, and industry experts to share their knowledge and experiences with our students. During this week, guest speakers participate in classes and panels, offering insights into current trends, career opportunities, and the future of media and communication.
Before Your Visit to Mass Comm Week
Your faculty host will communicate with you before your session about your arrival time, where to meet, and talk about parking.

Joining Mass Comm Week Online?
If you are participating in Mass Comm Week virtually, you do not need to follow the in-person arrival, parking or Green Room instructions.
Your faculty host will send you the Zoom or virtual session link and confirm the time of your session before the event.

Mass Comm Week Green Room
The Mass Comm Week Green Room in Old Main will serve as a welcome and check-in space for our in-person guest speakers throughout the week.
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before your scheduled session so you have time to check in and get settled.
Your faculty host or a Mass Comm Week student worker will bring you to the Green Room when you arrive.
Check In
In the Green Room, guest speakers can:
- Pick up their name tag and lanyard
- Receive a Mass Comm Week welcome bag
- Enjoy snacks and beverages
- Take photos at the Mass Comm Week photo backdrop
- Meet SJMC faculty, staff, students and other guests
- Participate in a brief social media interview, if available
After check-in, your faculty host or student worker will guide you to your session location.
After Your Session
You are welcome to return to the Green Room after your session.
Stop by to grab another snack or beverage, take photos, visit with faculty and students or relax for a few minutes before leaving campus.
During Your Visit
Our team will take photos and video throughout Mass Comm Week and during many of our sessions. We may also ask if you are available for a brief social media interview before or after your session.
