AWARE Lab (AI, Wearables, and Autonomous Robot Experience Lab)
AWARE is an interdisciplinary, Human-Centered research lab directed by Dr. Heidi Makady. The lab explores projects at the intersection of cross-disciplinary fields to capture a full spectrum of Human-AI & Human-Machine Interaction. We use mixed methodologies to understand how people trust, perceive, interact with, and adapt to intelligent systems such as wearables, AI agents, and autonomous and social robots in their daily lives, towards a responsible, aware, and informed use.
The lab offers publication-track fellowships and welcomes undergraduate and graduate student fellows. Fellows from interdisciplinary fields work in collaborative groups on various milestones of the research projects towards research training experience.
