Innovation Club
About our Organization
The Texas State Innovation Club was founded in 2019. This student professional organization is an extension of the Media Innovation Lab in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The club consists of students from across the university interested in expanding their media innovation skills and knowledge in an inventive, collaborative environment. Located in the MILab in Old Main 106-C, this club meets regularly and acts as an incubator for ideas that will solve real-world problems around topics including computer programming, virtual reality, 360 video, internet of things (iOT), artificial intelligence, bots, sensors and other cutting-edge technologies.
While classes and activities offer one level of experience, this student organization further piques students’ interests, as well as provides relevant, real-world experience for them.
In the spring of 2019, the Innovation Club received a $5,000 Teaching and Learning Grant through the Division of IT at Texas State University. This grant provided most of the equipment the club they use today.
