Live Oak Hall

Live Oak Hall, a new addition to Texas State University, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the College of Fine Arts and Communication's capabilities. This $10 million, 10,291-square-foot building houses a film sound stage, TV studio, recording mix classroom, editing lab, and Foley room for sound effects.

Live Oak is home to the "Bobcat Update" newscast, with green screen technology, surround sound capabilities, and a live broadcast streaming setup.

Creator Studio

The Creator Studio is a professional, shared production space designed to support students and faculty working across digital media, journalism, and mass communication. Equipped for high-quality audio, video, and photography production, the studio supports podcast recording, interview-style video, headshots, green screen content, and collaborative multimedia projects.

Designed to mirror real-world production environments, the Creator Studio provides hands-on learning opportunities that help users develop technical skills, storytelling practices, and professional workflows. Access to the studio is available by reservation.

New Idea Lab

The New Idea Lab is a collaborative workspace for advertising and public relations students to develop campaigns and work on team-based projects in a professional, agency-style environment. Located in ASBN 350, the lab supports hands-on learning with shared workspaces, digital monitors, and a dedicated conference room. It also serves as the home base for Texas State’s AAF National Student Advertising Competition team and PRSA Bateman competition teams.

Digital Media & Everyday Life Lab

Lab explores the social formations that emerge with the assemblage of publics and platforms. We investigate how people use digital media platforms and the research emphasizes media appropriation, consumption, influence, and literacy, often working collaboratively with faculty and graduate students.

KTSW 89.9

KTSW 89.9 is located in the Trinity building and serves as the university's hub for diverse and engaging radio programming. From music shows and news updates to sports coverage and talk programs, KTSW provides a dynamic and entertaining broadcast experience. The station serves both as a training ground for students interested in radio production and as a source of entertainment for the campus and the surrounding community.
