The University Star is a Finalist for five College Media Association Pinnacles

The University Star has been named a finalist for five Pinnacle Awards from the College Media Association (CMA), one of the nation’s leading organizations supporting student media journalism. The student-run publication is being recognized in the categories of General Newsletter, Column, Feature Story, Interactive/Motion Infographic, and Newspaper Spread. CMA is regarded as the leading voice for collegiate media and their advisers. The organization supports student media professionals, staff, and programs nationwide by providing educational resources, research, and advocacy.
Winners will be announced in October at MediaFest, the National College Media Convention, which brings together student journalists, advisers, and media professionals from across the country. Recognition as a Pinnacle finalist places The University Star among the top collegiate publications in the country, showcasing the talent and dedication of its student staff.
